Purpose

  • Establish and promote educational, cultural, social, and filial ties among the OMO EKOS in Texas and the OLD EKO KINGDOM in Lagos, Nigeria.
  • Initiate programs that will ameliorate specific needs of the EKO Community both in the US and Lagos. Such needs may be natural disasters or deficiencies in areas of humanitarian endeavors.
  • Propagate the ideals of a progressive society through conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Facilitate peaceful co-existence between peoples in the United States of America and Lagos, Nigeria, which directly or indirectly affects the progress of the LAGOS COMMUNITY and the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
  • Develop stronger fellowship among members for the benefit of the Community.
  • Preserve the traditions, heritage, and values of our EKO KINGDOM.

Objective

  • Save lives.
  • Ensure respect for individual rights and family values. Facilitate the advancement of knowledge in the dangers of drug abuse, AIDS, and other societal ills for the betterment of humanity.
  • Re-orient and re-awake the consciousness of the indigenes or people with ancestral linkages to EKO in forgotten values.
  • Improve fellowship and humaneness.
  • Create an environment for viable economic growth by propagating an ideal society free from drugs, violence, AIDS, and other societal ills.
  • Maintain the uniqueness and centrality of ethnic identity.
